The Food Network star’s eldest child, daughter Alex, is currently expecting her second child with her husband, Mauricio Scott. Alex took to Instagram on Sunday, May 14, to share several photos from her and her friend’s joint baby shower.
“Boots & BBQ for two little cowboys coming soon!!!” she captioned the upload. “Shoutout to our besties for throwing us the most PERFECT sprinkle for baby boy. feeling so real that we are about to welcome baby brother to the crew!”
The post’s first slide featured a sweet snap of Alex cradling her baby bump while posing with her husband. Other photos featured Alex and her pregnant friend posing with their respective partners and the party’s attendees. Alex and Mauricio also snapped a photo with Ree’s husband, Ladd Drummond, her brother Todd Drummond, her sister, Paige Drummond, and Paige’s husband, David Andersen. (Ree and Ladd share five kids, including sons Bryce and Jamar.)
Noticeably missing from the photos was Ree. According to several users in the post’s comments, Alex revealed via her Instagram Story that Ree had to skip the event because she had undergone a root canal a few days prior.
Fans and family members flooded the post’s comments with congratulatory messages for Alex and Mauricio, including Paige, who wrote, “So excited for baby boy!!! Love y’all.” Todd, for his part, stated, “Love you, Alex!! So excited to welcome my nephew into the world!!”
One user said, “Omg I thought you were having twins for a second! congrats to both of you!” Another added, “Luckiest boy in the world. so excited for your growing fam!!!!” Someone else shared, “What cool idea. 2 showers together and both having boys.”

Alex and Mauricio tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their daughter, Sofia, in 2024. Back in March, Alex announced via Instagram that she was pregnant with the couple’s second child. “Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September,” she wrote alongside adorable family photos they took with Alex’s ultrasound photos. “Thank you Lord for our growing family!”
Ree gushed over the news in the post’s comments at the time, writing, “Ree Ree is just so happy. Love you guys!! Wheee!!!”
The Pioneer Woman star further celebrated Alex’s pregnancy news in a blog post, writing, “I am so happy for the Scotts! And on a personal note even though this isn’t entirely about me (haha): This time last year, I was still in the fizzy honeymoon phase of becoming a new grandmother, and in the year since, I have blissfully swum around in the beautiful, sparkling sea of Sofia Scott and have delighted in every single moment I’ve gotten to spend with her. She is an absolute wonder and I love her so very much. And now she’s officially going to be the eldest daughter.”
Ree continued, “I know she won’t understand all this means for some time, but man oh man…it will be so fun to watch. The new baby is due September 21 (my and Ladd’s wedding anniversary!) so we have a few months to keep getting more and more excited.”
