‘RHOC’ OG Shares Heartbreaking Fertility Update

- Advertisment -

A RHOC OG is sharing a heartbreaking fertility update as they are currently trying to expand their family. So, does this mean that all of their dreams have been shattered, or is there still a fragment of hope? Keep reading for more details on what the show alum had to say.

A Fertility Dream Crushed

Many of the RHOC women have undergone fertility treatments, starting with Heather Dubrow. Her twins and one of her daughters were conceived via IVF, with the fourth being a surprise miracle. Gretchen Rossi opted for IVF with her long-term partner, Slade Smiley, as he had undergone a vasectomy. They welcomed a daughter and have contemplated having more children, but seem to be on the fence. Emily Simpson and her husband, Shane, have also done IVF, but she was unable to carry her babies. It almost killed her, so her sister was a surrogate. Thankfully, Emily and Shane are parents to a girl and twin boys.

Finally, Meghan King and Jim Edmonds also underwent IVF. Like Slade and Gretchen, the vasectomy made it complicated, so they wanted their best chance of results. Despite a divorce, they do have twin boys and a daughter. Fellow alum Jo De La Rosa was on the first two seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County and was previously engaged to the aforementioned Slade Smiley. She has since appeared on subsequent seasons and will be back for Season 20. In 2022, Jo married Taran Gray, and they decided to attempt to naturally conceive.

That did not happen, and at 45, Jo and Taran headed to a fertility specialist. There, the RHOC OG shared that the doctor was hoping to find six eggs on each side of Jo, but that did not happen. Rather, there was zero and one, which was a heartbreaking blow. Now, Jo knew that with the six and six, she still only had a 4% chance of conceiving, but now, it was shattered. However, she can still carry a child; it would likely take a donor egg.

Love & Support In The Sadness

Jo De La Rosa received so much love and support in the face of sadness. Although this was not what she wanted to hear, she admitted she is so grateful that she can still carry a baby. Moreover, her RHOC co-stars sent well-wishes during this most difficult share:

  • Heather Dubrow: Sending you so much love Jo❤️
  • Tamra Judge: I am so sorry, Jo. Sending you love ❤️
  • Peggy Tanous: Sending you love and prayers sweetie

It is still hard for Jo De La Rosa to wrap her head around using a donor egg, but she is keeping the faith.
