As an actress, Lake first rose to fame starring in the 1988 film Hairspray. Following this, she gained fame as a talk show host with her namesake show, Ricki Lake, which ran from 1993 to 2005. At the time, she was credited as being one of the youngest people to host a syndicated talk show.
After this, in 2012, Lake later hosted a second syndicated talk show, The Ricki Lake Show, which ended a year later. However, the show helped her win her first Daytime Emmy Award. In 2022, she launched her own podcast series, Raised by Ricki.
Lake famously showcased various transformations with fans over the years. Taking to social media, she recently opened up about a change she underwent. Taking to Instagram, the star opened up about her face lift, which she underwent a few years back.
Celebrating an anniversary of sorts, Lake shared, “Happy 2-year anniversary to me. Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a face lift.” She explained, “Specifically, for those wondering, I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift along with a mild co2 laser.”
Lake also wanted to express her gratitude towards her surgeon. As she shared, “My incredibly talented and kind surgeon, Dr. Allen Foulad @drallenfoulad made the experience a wonderful one and my results have been remarkable, natural, and long-lasting.”
Lake then shared a little background on why she wanted the procedure. As she shared, she had lost around 40 pounds back in 2023. She disliked the excess skin and expressed, “It was never going to tighten up by itself.”
Another Talk Show Host Revealed That Lake’s Story Had Actually Inspired A Procedure Of Her Own
Lake admitted that the procedure needed a “leap of faith,” but she was “grateful” to have gone through it. She noted that she has enjoyed hearing similar stories from others since then. As she wrote, “I am also very glad to see so many people over these past couple of years opening up about their own plastic surgery journeys.”
The carousel post opened up with a side-by-side of Lake’s treatment. Lake ended the post with two photos of her on what appeared to be her vacation “without makeup or filter.”
