Following this, in 2025, Reinhart took on the role of Harper on the comedy-drama series Hal & Harper. She also serves as an executive producer on the series.
While Reinhart rose to fame playing Betty, the actress herself recently admitted that she doesn’t remember much about her time on the show. During a recent appearance on the In Your Dreams podcast, she explained, “I don’t really remember. Because it was kind of traumatic.”
Reinhart Also Weighed In On Fans Who Still Call Her, Or Still Think Of Her As, ‘Betty’
The actress noted that she was thinking about her time on the show “the other day” after actress Lola Tung expressed a similar experience during The Summer I Turned Pretty. Feeling like she understood the experience firsthand, Reinhart explained, “There’s this thing that happens, where it happens very quickly if you’re on a show like that. It rises into pop culture and a lot’s happening at once. It’s so weird. I’m very thankful that TikTok wasn’t a thing when this was happening for me.”
Reinhart assured that she was a fan of TikTok and spent hours on int herself. However, she expressed, “I think had Riverdale been any bigger than it was, it would have been too much for all of us. That’s why I have really a lot of just empathy and compassion for the young people in their 20s who are on shows now that are blasted all over TikTok, because it’s just really amplified more than it ever has been.”
The actress added, “Nobody deserves that many people commenting on your existence. It’s just too much.”
When an actor becomes well-known for playing a character, it becomes hard for some fans to tell the difference between fantasy and reality. The actress shared mixed feelings over the idea. She shared that people call her Betty all the time, but knows it’s “coming from love.” However, she also felt, “That’s just inherently what most people know me for, but I have the rest of my career to keep doing things and it doesn’t like inhibit me in any way.”
