- Rosie O’Donnell concluded her guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night.
- She responded to a White House spokesperson’s insult by embracing the “nasty woman” label.
- O’Donnell’s final monologue featured a musical performance dedicated to Donald Trump.
Rosie O’Donnell wrapped up her final night guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! by tearing into her long-time nemesis Donald Trump, including a special musical performance dedicated to the president.
Ahead of Thursday’s (August 20) show, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told People, “Rosie O’Donnell is a nasty woman and a total slob whose brain has been completely destroyed by Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
The former View co-host referenced the White House’s comments at the top of her monologue, telling the studio audience, “Welcome to Jimmy Kimmel Live. I am your guest host, ‘Nasty’ Rosie O’Donnell.”
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here. Thanks to everyone who’s been watching this week, especially the hungry, hungry hypocrite in the White House,” she continued. “Kind of weird to think he spent more nights with me this week than Melania.”
O’Donnell went on to say, “Most of all, I’d like to thank Jimmy Kimmel for inviting me to do this and for reminding everyone that we have the right to free speech in this country, whether Orange Voldemort likes it or not.”
The comedian has taken shots at Trump throughout the week, though pointedly never referenced him by name. Instead, she has referred to him with nicknames such as “Mango Mussolini,” “Oompa J. Loompa,” and “President Petty Roosevelt.”
O’Donnell capped off her final monologue with a special singalong just for Trump. “I would like to close my final monologue here with a traditional Irish song dedicated to a very special boy,” she said before launching into a parody of the folk song “Danny Boy.”
“O Donnie boy, it’s Rosie, Rosie calling, from Hollywood, The Jimmy Kimmel Show,” she sang. “Drop that Big Mac that we all know you’re holding. Because, my dear, I worry for you so.”
She continued, “Poor Donnie boy, your polls, your polls are falling. Your reflecting pool is green as Mountain Dew. Your wig’s a mess. Your ballroom is appalling. And with Iran, you bit off more than you can chew.”
After taking shots at Trump’s late-night social media posting and merchandise hawking, she sang, “But there’s a way to end this drama. It’s time to use that stable genius brain. Since we all know you’ll never be Obama. Why not resign and make this country great again?”
