Ryan Murphy has a lot of famous shows under his belt. While promoting the latest season of one show, he also talked about another well-known show from his past: Glee. At the time, he teased that fans might not have heard that last from the 2009 series.
Ryan Murphy Has Worked On A Number Of Famous Shows Over The Years, From Glee To American Horror Story
Murphy is a writer and producer, with him considered a prominent figure in modern television. Some famous shows he has created or produced include Nip/Tuck, Glee, American Horror Story, Scream Queens, Monster, and Pose, among others. He started his career co-creating the comedy series Popular, which premiered in 1999.
Recently, Murphy spoke about Glee. This musical comedy-drama series, which aired from 2009 to 2015, revolves around the members of the New Directions at the fictional William McKinley High School.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy was asked about the show’s possible return. As he shared, “Well, funny you ask, because I just finished the script an hour ago. We have a script.”
According to Murphy, many figures who worked on the show have already gotten involved. He explained, “Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something.”

Murphy also noted that this wasn’t just about the talent behind the scenes. He continued, “I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members, and it’s very sweet.” While nothing has been confirmed, he noted, “They’ve all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”
Unfortunately, the cast has also faced its fair share of tragedy over the years. Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, passed away in 2013. Mark Salling, who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman, died in 2018. Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez, lost her life in 2020 after an accidental drowning.
At the time of his more recent comments, Murphy was promoting the latest season of American Horror Story. He admitted that bringing so many of his show’s cast members back together inspired him to do the same for another of his shows. He expressed, “Now I’m older and this made me excited for a Glee thing because it was like getting the band back together.”
