- Rynia Kando did celebrity impressions for her America’s Got Talent auditions.
- In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek, Rynia has the judges laughing with her impersonations of Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera.
The talent pool in Season 21 of America’s Got Talent is quite impressive, and Rynia Kando is bringing something different to the stage. The singer does celebrity impressions, and TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek at the impersonations she brought to AGT.
“This is how Christina Aguilera would stub her toe,” Rynia said in the clip, before purposely walking into a stool and belting out how Aguilera would scream if the incident happened to her. She perfectly impersonated Aguilera’s distinctive voice, leaving the audience in fits of laughter.
Simon Cowell looked amused by the bit, while Sofia Vergara seemed a little hesitant as she cracked a smile. Rynia then said, “This is how Ariana Grande would stub her toe,” and did an impression of how Grande would scream after walking into the stool, hitting the Wicked star’s impressive high notes.
“Oh wow,” Cowell mouthed as he took the performance in. We’ll have to wait for the full episode to air to see if Rynia’s performance was enough for the judges to move her forward, though.
Only 44 acts make the Quarterfinals on America’s Got Talent, despite more than that getting through the Auditions. Once the first round is over, the judges get together to deliberate about who will move forward, and only 10 are guaranteed (each judge plus host Terry Crews gets two Golden Buzzer picks in the Auditions.)
For the first time, Season 21 will feature the Judges Callback Round, which will take place after deliberations. The panel will select some acts to return for a second performance, giving them another chance to check out their talent before making a final decision.
