What To Know
- Scott Foley has opened up about Prime Video’s decision to cancel his new series.
- It’s Not Like That was met with favorable reviews but won’t return for another season.
Poor Scott Foley. Not only was his beloved character Dr. Seth killed off on Will Trent‘s latest season, but now the actor is enduring another heartbreaking setback: His new romantic drama, It’s Not Like That, was canceled after a single season on Prime Video.
Hours after the news came that the streamer would not follow up with another season of the show, Foley took to social media to deliver his reaction to the news … and a message for fans.
In an Instagram video, Foley said, “Well, after six or so weeks trending in the Top 10 and getting as high as like three or four, really great reviews — I think we have like 100% on Rotten Tomatoes — our little show called It’s Not Like That has been canceled at Amazon Prime.” After a beat, in which he shrugged and pointedly stared with an expression of confusion, Foley then continued with, “I think I’m just … I’m disappointed, obviously, but I’m so grateful for the chance.”
“I get to make… I got to make a show I’m so proud of with people I grew to like a lot, and now we don’t get to make it anymore, and you don’t get to watch it,” Foley’s message continued. He then offered words of gratitude, saying, “If you watched it, thank you. I appreciate it. If you didn’t, it’s still on Amazon Prime. It’s not going to change the cancellation, but I wanted to thank everybody who took the time to check it out. Whether it was you found it on your own, whether it was a recommendation you saw on social media, it’s appreciated. So thank you.”
He then offered a message to his now-former colleagues in the series, saying, “To the entire cast and crew of It’s Not Like That, I loved making the show with you, and I would work with you again and again and again.”
It’s Not Like That featured Foley as Malcolm Jeffries, a widowed pastor and father of three whose relationship with Lori (Erinn Hayes) changes after she ends up alone, too, following her divorce. As Foley said, critical reviews were strong for the series.
