Mike Flanagan enlisted some of Hollywood’s biggest names for his latest horror flick.
The director, best known for shows such as The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher, as well as films like Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck, will head a new iteration of the classic horror movie The Exorcist.
Scarlett Johansson leads the film’s star-studded cast, which includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, Sasha Calle, Diane Lane, and Jacobi Jupe. The cast also features several of Flanagan’s frequent collaborators, including Carla Gugino, Hamish Linklater, Rahul Kohli, Carl Lumbly, Kate Siegel, Robert Longstreet, Gil Bellows, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, John Gallagher Jr., and Benjamin Pajak.
The movie, which is written, produced, and directed by Flanagan, will be a brand-new story in The Exorcist universe, and not a follow-up to the franchise’s latest installment, 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer. Plot and character details are currently being kept under wraps.
Several cast members were spotted filming across New York City earlier this year. And based on the first look photos, the movie is sure to take viewers on a wild and spooky ride.
