Bachelor in Paradise fan favorite couple Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile are still going strong more than a year after their engagement. In fact, the two recently had a big engagement party with family and friends. Now, Serena is updating fans on where she and Joe stand with wedding planning. Keep reading to find out more.
Serena Pitt dishes on her relationship with Joe
US Weekly shared what Serena Pitt had to say about her relationship with Joe Amabile. Serena says she always knew her and Joe’s engagement would last. She had no doubt they would make it down the aisle.
She said once they got through the initial period following when the show ended and they had to figure out if they could live together without wanting to kill each other, she knew they could make it.
Serena said, “We know we love each other; we see a future together. But right after the show, spending that time in the outside world, like, is there that compatibility? Could we live together and not wanna kill each other? After that initial transition went so smoothly, there was really nothing but confidence in the future of our relationship and we always knew we were gonna end up getting married.”
Their engagement party
Serena said she and Joe knew they wanted an engagement party. The main reason for this since they had already been engaged for a year was to bring their family and friends together. In fact, their parents met for the first time at the party.
She also said their parents get along great. Plus, Joe gets along well with her parents and she gets along well with his as well.
When do they want to head down the aisle?
Serena also dished that she and Joe are hoping to get married in 2023. She said, “Right now, we are hoping for next September — considering we haven’t started planning, we have to be a little flexible in terms of venues and such and what’s available. But we would love to get married next September. We definitely wanna get married next year.”
She continued saying, “Maybe August or October, but next year and it’s gonna be somewhere in the U.S. — probably not Toronto or Chicago. We’d just like to make it kind of destination for everyone, and we just want it to be a fun weekend. I have to start looking at wedding planners. That’s actually on my written to-do list for next week. So hopefully I’ll have a wedding planner soon.”
Serena also said that while Joe tells her to do what she wants, she wants it to be what they both want and not just for her.
As for what she wants to wear, Serena doesn’t have a dress picked out. She said once she and Joe find a venue then she will look more into dresses. She does know she wants to find a dress that is comfortable. If she has to wear it all night she at least wants to be comfortable doing it.
