Will Shadow & Bone get renewed for Season 3 or has Netflix made the decision to cancel the thrilling series?
It is no secret that Shadow & Bone has had a frustratingly slow release on Netflix. Fans of the series have been very vocal about their issues with the slow release on social media. Because the thrilling series is based on a book series, however, the streaming giant was able to tap into a fan base from the jump. So, Shadow & Bone kicked off with a pretty loyal fan base of viewers that were willing to wait out the slow release even though it frustrated them.
Now, it’s been a few months since Season 2 of the series dropped into the Netflix streaming library back in Mach of this year. So, it is understandable that subscribers are itching to know if the series has been renewed or canceled. Has there been an update on Season 3? Keep reading for the latest update on this series.
Shadow & Bone Season 3: Renewed Or Canceled By Netflix?
As fans of Shadow & Bone know, Season 1 of the series first landed in the Netflix streaming library in April 2021. It was nearly two long years before the streaming giant released Season 2 in March of this year.
According to What’s On Netflix, the streaming giant has yet to make a decision on whether the series will have a green light. Unfortunately, this means that subscribers could really end up waiting two years for Season 3 to drop as well (if it gets renewed).
Unfortunately, thanks to the WGA strike, things are a bit dicey in the TV business as far as kicking off the production of a new series. And the Writers Guild strike certainly could be a factor in why the series hasn’t been renewed yet.

Fans Have Been VERY Vocal About A Renewal
On Twitter, fans of Shadow & Bone tag Netflix and post nearly every day asking for information on Season 3. There has also been a rumor making the rounds that the streaming giant is considering a Six Of Crows spin-off as well.

Given the intense popularity of the series (evident by the activity on social media), it appears as if a renewal would certainly be well-received by subscribers. It, however, wouldn’t be the first time Netflix turned up its nose to a large and loud fanbase. Julie and the Phantoms, for example, was a series with very loud fans on social media. And, that didn’t stop Netflix from canceling the series.
