sMOthered is returning to TLC for Season 5 but who will be back for the reality guilty pleasure? More so, when will the new season premiere? It’s been over a year since Season 4 ended so fans have waited long enough. Read on for all of the details on the cast and the debut date.
sMothered Season 5 Return Date, Cast Details
For those unfamiliar with sMothered, it is all about mothers and daughters who are just a little too close for comfort. It is great to have an amazing relationship with your mother but these women take it to the next level. Think I Love A Mama’s Boy but with daughters. Season 4 ended in October 2022 so Season 5 is well overdue. With that in mind, who will be returning for the new year? out of all of the beloved duos, only two are returning. According to In Touch Weekly, the first is Kathy and Cristina.
Last season, Cristina moved closer to home but her husband’s pizza business was doing so well, he was thinking of expanding. This season, Kathy is about to turn 65, and with that comes the mortality fears. However, this is somewhat justified as Cristina will discover her mother does have an illness. Yet, it is currently unclear what or how severe the illness is. Then, there are Brittani and Mary who are back after a two-season hiatus. They are known to share a bed and do everything together. It seems great until Brittani’s new love becomes a part of their lives and throws them off kilter.
Gone are Cher and Dawn who have been sMothered mainstays so that may seem a little strange with them not around. Additionally, Lauren and Laura Leigh became first-time parents in Season 4 but their journey will also not be a part of the new season, as well. Finally, Angelica and Sunhe have also exited the series but that does not mean they won’t return as Brittani and Mary did. So, who are the newcomers and when will fans get to see them in action?
New Mother-Daughter Duos
The new sMothered duos do come with a twist so hold on for that. First off, there are Catherine and Gabriella, residing in Clinton, CT. Catherine was a pageant girl back in her day and now she is prepping her daughter to compete for the title of Miss Connecticut. Then there are Texan ladies Eva and Sunnie who own a boutique salon. Yet, just like any doting mother on this show, Eva will press Sunnie’s man to propose before he is ready. This could cause a major issue for the mother-daughter duo.
A MIL-SIL pair is joining for the first time in the show’s history as India and Trevor are way too friendly. At the same time, India’s daughter, DeLeesa is pregnant and she is so confused by all of this. It’s actually affecting their husband and wife relationship. Lastly, Sky and Skylar are from Georgia and Mama believes she is her daughter’s brain. However, Sky is about to pull a Kris Jenner and try to manage her daughter’s performing career.
