Is Hadestown still in theaters?
Hadestown: The Musical was only supposed to be in movie theaters from July 24 through July 28, but box-office demand extended its theatrical run. It’s still in theaters as of the time of publication, and no end date has been announced yet.
The Tony Award-winning Hadestown is a modern retelling of the Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice, starring real-life married couple Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada as the muse’s son and the poor girl looking for a soft place to land.
The Greek gods Hades, Persephone, and Hermes are played by The Gilded Age‘s Patrick Page, Amber Gray, and André De Shields (who won a Tony for his performance), respectively. Those five actors were the original stars of the Broadway production, and they’re joined by members of the West End Hadestown cast in the pro-shot.
Will Hadestown be on streaming services?

A streaming debut has not yet been announced. When the pro-shot first came out in theaters, it wasn’t clear if the film would be made available for purchase or streaming after the theatrical release was over. But good news arrived when the film became available for pre-order on digital platforms during the theatrical run.
Hadestown: The Musical is currently available to pre-order on video-on-demand on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. It costs $24.99 on each platform.
