A few substitutes helped make up the panel during a recent episode of The Five. While the co-hosts discussed a few current events, a few of the viewers shared their reactions to the change in the lineup. In particular, some shared that they especially missed the two absent co-hosts.
Dana Perino Has Been Part Of Fox News’ The Five Since The Start, With Jessica Tarlov First Appearing In 2022
Viewers have been watching Fox News’ The Five since 2011. The show features a panel of co-hosts weighing in on various current events. Throughout the episode, the rotating Fox personalities each host their own “blocks,” which can have a single or multiple topics.
The show’s current panel is made up of Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, Emily and Compagno, with Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr. serving as alternating hosts. Perino, who is also known for America’s Newsroom, is one of the original panelists, with Tarlov joining the show in 2022.

However, Tarlov and Perino were noticeably absent during an October 23 episode. Tarlov, who often offers a liberal point-of-view on the program, was replaced by former Democratic Representative Harold Ford Jr. Ford is no stranger to the show, as he often alternates with Tarlov.
The Panel Weighed In On The Approaching Midterm Elections This November
Meanwhile, senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich stepped in for Perino. The other regular co-hosts, Compagno, Watters, and Gutfeld, filled out the rest of the panel.
The group started the show discussing the upcoming midterm elections in November. At one point during the conversation, Watters expressed, “There is going to be so much pent-up extremism that is just going to have to explode! And it’s going to do the unthinkable.”
“HE’S BEEN ON THE DEFENSE FOREVER!” 🔥 @JesseBWatters takes aim at Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign, arguing the Michigan Senate candidate has no real solutions for voters.

However, many viewers took issue with the “substitutes” on the show. For many fans, Perino and Tarlov were missed, feeling that they were away from the show too much. Some comments included:
- “There have been far too many substitutes on The Five. Jaqui Heinrich is absolutely horrible on the show. Dana Perino is off way too much!”
- “Jacqui is an airhead, but not as annoying as Jessica Tarlov. Making me miss Dana.”
- “The only saving grace tonight is Emily Compagno. She should be on the show more.”
- “But Harold im afraid of all of the dems running i cant take that chance ever Trump is the safest choice by far.”
- “Harold used to be more balanced and forthright, but he has been more hypocritical recently to defend his party.”
