The Co-Hosts Of The View Shared Mixed Reactions To Recent Comments From Judge Judy Herself, Judith Sheindlin
Judith Sheindlin has recently been celebrating the 30th anniversary of her show, Judge Judy. Recently, she was the subject of a 90-minute primetime anniversary special, Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable, which aired on CBS on September 22, 2026. Viewers also recently saw the release of her son Adam Levy’s own daytime courtroom series, Adam’s Law.
Around this time, Judge Judy has been a topic of discussion for many outlets. Recently, comments she made were discussed during an episode of The View.
As noted on the show, the famous television judge gave her opinion on the current political climate of the United States. She expressed, “I have a house, and I have a home. I consider America my home. America has been good to me. We are a capitalist country that revered excellence, that revered entrepreneurship, that revered all of the things that made us great.”
Sheindlin continued, “If you don’t like this country, go somewhere else. Don’t come to the greatest country in the world, the most successful country in the world, and say, ‘I wanna change it.’ There are other countries. If they have something else that you want, go there.”
During the discussion on The View, Joy Behar noted that Sheindlin was “never shy” about sharing her views, but didn’t know what to make of her comments. Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that the First Amendment allows Americans to share their views, but commented that many on the left appear to be moving towards socialism.
Joy Behar Suggested That Sheindlin’s Comments Could Be Taken Out Of Context, But Navarro Didn’t Quite Agree
For her part, Ana Navarro took issue with the comments, feeling that there was a difference between criticizing the government and the country overall. She shared, “I take umbrage at what she said, and I don’t like it at all. It’s said to me a lot of times on social media because I criticize Donald Trump and the government. I think we can distinguish between not loving the current government and liking America.”
Navarro continued, “For me, because I love America, I have the duty and responsibility to call out the grift and the cruelty and the racism and the abuses of power and the anti-American actions that he is taking on a daily basis, like banning the press. That is exactly what distinguishes us from communism, the fact that we have freedom of the press.”
As fans know, Navarro was born in Nicaragua and had a chance to leave the country of her birth. She shared, “If you want things to change in the government, you stay, you fight, you vote, you organize, and you are part of the change.”
For her part, Sara Haines agreed with Sheindlin’s comments. Behar also felt, “I don’t think Judy is saying that if you disagree with Trump you should leave the country.”
However, Navarro expressed, “I do.” She later added, “To me, she sounded like she was coming from a place of privilege. A lot of people don’t even have enough money to get a passport.”
