The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is a hotly debated topic. Even President Trump has weighed in on it. He tried to quell fears but questions remain about the future of certain industries amid increasing AI use. The View host Sunny Hostin was blasted by fans after revealing a shocking partnership with an AI film company. Keep reading for all the details.
Sunny Hostin Signs Over Rights For AI Movie Production
The View hosts discussed how AI could affect the film industry months ago. The topic came up after AI-generated actress Tilly Norwood was cast in several projects. Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg expressed concern for her own job. But one of her co-hosts isn’t nearly concerned. In fact, Sunny Hostin has embraced the rise of AI.

It was reported in August that The View host had partnered with Fountain 0 to adapt her novels into movies and TV productions. Sunny Hostin signed over her name and likeness to the AI startup film company. The ABC talk show was on summer hiatus at the time, so her co-hosts weren’t able to weigh in. However, they addressed it once the show returned in early September.

The View Fans Blast Her For Shocking Move
Sunny Hostin tried to defend herself from criticism over the shocking move. “The gatekeeping in Hollywood around Black and Brown creative content is insane,” she said about her struggle to get her three novels made into movies. The former prosecutor wrote a trilogy of best-selling fiction books: Summer on the Bluffs, Summer on Sag Harbor, and Summer on Highland Beach. She has also penned the memoir, I Am These Truths.
Sunny Hostin lost a lot of fans over her acceptance and promotion of AI. Upset viewers took to Reddit to share their disappointed reactions.
- “On top of Friday’s discussion, I see her in a different light. It’s most unflattering.”
- “I like her a lot, but she’s just awful about this. Clearly lying or telling herself it’s justified so she can make money.”
- “It’s effed up. She should invest her money into actual productions. She’s wealthy enough to make them herself and hire the people to do it specifically black and brown people.”
- “AI shouldn’t even exist. It’s dangerous and the big data plants are not good for the environment.”
- “She’s worried about the world we are leaving behind for her children, but supports one of the biggest threats to the entire world. It’s baffling.”
Sunny Hostin isn’t the only one fully behind the growth of AI. Whoopi Goldberg’s Ghost co-star Demi Moore spoke out to encourage the acceptance of AI. Share your thoughts in the comments.
