‘The Voice’ Fans Threatening Boycott After Losing Beloved Coach

TV Shows

The Voice announced months ago the new lineup for next season’s coaching chairs. However, it seems that some fans are just now hearing the news and many are not happy. There is now a growing sense of some fans boycotting the season because of one coach leaving the show.

Here is who fans say they are going to miss on The Voice and might not watch the season as a result.

Fans angry at losing one The Voice coach

There will be only two returning coaches next season, with another former judge returning and two men stepping into one chair to fill out the lineup. The new coaches for the upcoming season of The Voice include John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper, and Dan + Shay. Only Reba and John coached in the last season of the show.

This means that Gwen Stefani left after a one-season run and Niall Horan is stepping away after two seasons on the show. With that said, there are a lot of fans mad about the changes to the coaching chairs. As expected, it isn’t Gwen Stefani who has fans upset. She remains a polarizing coach. it is Niall leaving the show after two seasons that has some fans threatening a boycott.

Niall came in during Blake Shelton’s final season on the show. It seemed like Blake was there to help usher in Niall and get him ready to take over his spot. What no one expected was that Niall would win it all in his rookie season as a coach. Then, Niall proved it was no fluke and won his second season as well. Not only was Niall a good replacement for Blake, but he was a guaranteed winner.

Now, it has ended as he is leaving the series after those two wins.

Dan+Shay have a big chair to step into

Dan+Shay will have a big chair to step into, and not just because it will have to hold two of them. With Niall Horan winning back-to-back seasons, his first two ever on the show, it will be hard to replace that success. Last season was Reba’s first, so she has never won. She did come in second place to Niall. John won in his first season, but that was way back in Season 16. Chance the Rapper played in Season 23 but also hasn’t won yet.

Who replaced Niall Horan as The Voice champion will be someone relatively new. Fans in the Instagram comments on the announcement made their displeasure known.

  • “amazing coaches but niall horan will be missed”
  • “Bring back Niall. And who are these guys?”
  • “and just like that goodbye The voice.”
  • “Totally lost my viewership … No clue who these guys are”

The opinions range from those who don’t know who Dan+Shay are to those who just hate the fact that Niall Horan has a busy schedule. Niall Horan is setting out on his The Show: Live on Tour this month and will travel on the tour until September 2024. Any fans expecting Naill to end his musical career to become a full-time reality TV star will remain disappointed.

What are your thoughts about Niall Horan leaving The Voice so he can go on tour? Do you like his replacements? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
