Craig Melvin Recently Had A Reunion At 30 Rockefeller Plaza On Today
Melvin joined Today as an anchor in 2018. He would go on to host the program’s third hour, working alongside Savannah Guthrie, after taking over for Hoda Kotb early last year.
During a recent episode, Melvin and his co-stars greeted the morning by meeting with fans at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. During the moment, however, Melvin spotted a familiar face.
Melvin mused, “I met this young lady when I came outside, and I was like, ‘Oh, she looks familiar.’ And it was a reminder of how old I am.”
He went on to ask the woman, Fallon Ward, how they knew each other. She shared, “I used to be your intern when you were at WIS news station in Columbia, South Carolina.” According to Ward, she had worked for Melvin as far back as 2008.
Melvin mused, “2008. That’s how old I am.” Turning to Ward, he shared, “It’s good to see you.” For her part, she shared, “Likewise.”

Melvin actually started his career in broadcast journalism at WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina. He worked as an evening news anchor.
The recent reunion was also shared on Today’s Instagram page. As a caption read, “It’s always nice to see a familiar face on the plaza!”
Thanks to this, fans were able to share their reactions to the moment on social media. In fact, a few people who have also met Melvin over the years shared a few stories. Of course, a few people also shared stories of how they followed Melvin’s television career over the years. Some comments included:
