What To Know
- Donald Trump launched two lengthy rants on Truth Social criticizing Fox News host Shannon Bream.
- He called her out for ‘biased’ coverage and having negative guests on her show.
- Trump also accused Bream of using outdated images and showing fake polls.
Fox News’ Shannon Bream appeared to get under Donald Trump‘s skin on Sunday (August 16) as the president delivered not one but two lengthy rants against the anchor on Truth Social. The president even called her ‘milktoast.’
On the August 16 edition of her program, Fox News Sunday, Bream grilled Trump’s recently handpicked attorney general Todd Blanche over the ongoing building of the White House ballroom. At one point, Bream asked Blanche why the administration won’t just ask for Congressional approval for the ballroom project.
“We don’t believe we have to go to Congress,” Blanche said, despite a federal appeals court ruling that work must stop on the ballroom.
The president was seemingly tuned into Bream’s show on Sunday and wasn’t happy with what he saw. “Watching FoxNews with Shannon Bream is always like watching the Worst of Fake News CNN,” he wrote in the first of two unhinged rants.
“I don’t know Shannon, but she always seems to pick guests, charts, and “polls” that are negative, never talking about all of the incredible things that the Trump Administration has done,” he continued before reeling off a list of supposed accomplishments and claimed that the U.S. is “more RESPECTED throughout the World than at any time in Memory.”
He continued, “Yet, week after week, I see Shannon ‘interviewing’ hostile guests,” later adding that her “‘show’ is beyond redemption.”
“Fortunately, MAGA, which is close to 100% of the Republican Party, understands that, and watch her “Ratings” start to fall,” Trump added before saying that Bream is “even worse” than former cable news anchor Chris Wallace.
“Oh well, it couldn’t have had too much of an impact, because I’m now heading back into the Oval Office to continue working on more TRIUMPHS and SUCCESSES for our Country!” the president concluded.
However, Bream was clearly still on his mind throughout the day, as he later returned to social media and unleashed another rant.
“During Shannon Bream’s show, they showed pictures of the Military Complex/Ballroom site at the White House. Unfortunately, the pictures were months old, before much work had been started,” Trump wrote. “Why didn’t Shannon Bream, “Milktoast” to her friends, show the updated pictures instead of ones that were so old and irrelevant?”
The president claimed Bream’s show is “so biased against MAGA, ‘TRUMP,’ and Republicans, that it is ridiculous!,” adding, “Even Chris Wallace was better, and he was really bad.”
Trump said that Bream and others at the network should “stop showing Fake Polls” as “they’re just embarrassing themselves.” He said it reminded him of the polls before his “landslide” 2024 presidential election win.
This isn’t the first time Bream has been on the receiving end of Trump’s vitriol. In June, the president wasn’t happy with reports that his immigration enforcement rates were comparable to former President Barack Obama’s.
“It would be nice if people like ‘Milk Toast’ Shannon Bream, and others, would put up a little fight — Just a little,” he wrote on Truth Social at the time. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
