Sons of Anarchy fans were given the surprise of a lifetime when FX announced that the cast would be reuniting for an all-new series. But Legends is far from a spinoff of the OG biker gang drama, as the comedy takes a crack at the meta concept of taking place in a version of the real world.
Set at a fan convention, the new series finds the stars reuniting more than a decade after Sons of Anarchy concluded. At the convention, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat scarier than anything they ever faced on their show. What that real-world threat is remains to be identified, but we’re eager to find out.
Described as a limited series, Legends was developed for the screen by Charlie Hunnam and Jonathan Groff, and they’re set to executive produce the title with Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel, and Jackie Cohn.
Along with Hunnam’s hefty role behind the scenes, the actor who led Sons of Anarchy as Jackson “Jax” Teller for more than 90 episodes between 2008 and 2014 will take center stage in this new scripted series. He’s being joined by a plethora of original cast members too, including Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman, to name a few. Along with announced stars, FX teased more casting would be unveiled in due time.
For those not as familiar with Sons of Anarchy, the show originally aired from 2008 to 2014, gifting fans seven seasons of drama and ultimately spawning a spinoff, Mayans M.C. Chronicling Jax’s struggles with being a father and balancing his life as a member of an outlaw motorcycle club, Sons of Anarchy was appointment TV viewing, making the reunion of its cast so thrilling.
In anticipation of the new show’s arrival, we’re taking a closer look at the Sons of Anarchy cast who are reuniting for this special project. Scroll down to see which fan favorites will be back, and let us know who else you’d like to see in the comments section.
