Brytni Sarpy has joined the cast of Days of our Lives, the show revealed on social media today.
In an Instagram post, Sarpy can be seen posing in front of her dressing room door — No. 26 — at the soap’s Burbank studios. However, Days has not yet revealed who she’ll be playing.
Sarpy first made her mark in the soap world in 2014, when she joined General Hospital as Valerie Spencer. The daughter of Pat Spencer (Dee Wallace), Valerie was the niece of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), and the cousin of Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins). Valerie had a one-night stand with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and a brief relationship with Dillon Quartermaine (then played by Robert Palmer Watkins).

In 2016, Sarpy moved to recurring status with GH, explaining on Twitter, “I was graciously allotted the opportunity to pursue other acting endeavors, but will still be popping into Port Chuck, every now and again. I hope you’ll continue to follow me on my journey, I promise it will be an exciting one!”
After leaving Port Charles in 2019, Sarpy joined The Young and the Restless as Elena Dawson, a role she played until 2024. During her time in Genoa City, Elena earned her medical license and became a doctor, dated Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), cheated on him with his cousin, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), and worked with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to track down J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill).

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest following her Y&R casting, Sarpy reflected on what she learned from her time on GH.
“I learned about essentially applying my work ethic,” she said. “I’m a hard worker, and GH was the first time I had ever really tested it out. It was my first time being on a truly professional set for a long, steady period of time, learning how to handle so much material, how to handle being on your feet, how to handle working under pressure and how to complete scenes in one take.”
She also credited the fast pace of daytime with giving soap actors a unique skill set. “I learned how adaptable I am,” she added. “Our little community of soap actors knows that we do a lot of work. We’re able to put under our belt a lot more episodes than actors in prime-time or feature film actors. So just the ability to be able to do so much in so little time kind of prepares you to be able to do anything and that’s invaluable confidence.”
Sarpy may also look familiar from Tyler Perry‘s The Haves and the Have Nots, New Girl, The Wrong Husband, and a Lay’s commercial called “So Many Flavors,” which aired in 2019. “It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever done,” she told Soap Opera Digest in the same interview.
This marks the second casting announcement Days has made in the past week. The first was Sydney Malakeh, who will debut on September 9 in a mystery role.
With Days’ unique production schedule, fans will have to wait a while before Sarpy makes her debut. Look for her to begin airing sometime in mid-2027.
