Hamill is an actor with a career spanning decades. For many, his most famous role was playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. He also has a prominent career as a voice actor.
Recently, Hamill sparked a few responses with a recent share on social media. This was a post on Bluesky that depicted an image of President Donald Trump.
The actor reportedly posted an AI-generated image of President Trump lying in a grave with a tombstone. A caption read, “If Only- He should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes. Long enough to realize he’ll be disgraced in history books, forevermore.”
Hamill signed off the post with “#don_TheCON.” The image also featured the message “If Only” in large letters at the bottom, with the years, “1946-2024,” on the tombstone.
Hamill Has Since Issued A Response Of His Own, Including An ‘Accurate Edit for Clarity’
Since the post, however, Hamill has received a response from the White House. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, White House Spokesman Davis Ingle shared, “Barack Hussein Obama just appeared in a video with this deranged lunatic three days ago. Now this same person is calling for President Trump to die. Why won’t Obama and Democrats condemn this disgusting call to violence?” This was partially in reference to Hamill and Obama appearing in a video at the Obama Presidential Center in honor of “Star Wars Day,” or May 4.
In addition, the White House Rapid Response’s official account shared, “[Mark Hamill] is one sick individual. These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”

By Thursday afternoon, the original post was no longer live, having been deleted by Hamill. The actor deleted it and shared an updated image without the grave. He wrote, “Accurate Edit for Clarity: ‘He should live long enough to… be held accountable for his… crimes.’ Actually, I was wishing him the opposite of dead but apologize if you found the image inappropriate.”

As noted by the outlet, Hamill has often been critical of Trump in previous posts on social media. Conversely, the White House has often used imagery from Star Wars to cast the president in a positive light. The official White House X account shared an image of Trump as Din Djarin holding Grogu, or Baby Yoda, for May 4.
