Ted Lasso Season 4 is nearly here (August 5 is the premiere), and while it may be the return for the fan-favorite coach played by Jason Sudeikis, it’s the debut for Richmond A.F.C.’s Lady Greyhounds, the women’s team that he’ll be helping guide (hopefully) to victory.
While fans will have to tune in to find out how Ted is swayed back to England, and what that looks like as he reassumes his head coach gig, it’s the new faces making up the Lady Greyhounds that are sure to stir up fresh excitement. Following in the footsteps of beloved onscreen players like Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster), Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh), and Danny Rojas (Cristo Fernández), the Lady Greyhounds are sure to make audiences fall in love all over again.
As we await their grand debut, TV Insider caught up with three team recruits, Jude Mack, Abbie Hern, and Faye Marsay, ahead of Season 4’s premiere, to get the scoop on their roles as players.

Marsay, who is known for her roles in Andor and Game of Thrones, takes on the part of Lizzie, who, she says, “wanted to do this from a much younger [age], and it’s amazing that she’s been able to get back into it.” The actress adds, “She’s had children, so it’s been difficult for her to get back into it, so this is her last chance to do it.”
Meanwhile, Hern steps into the shoes of Gemma, who, she explains, “will give her heart and soul and everything she has to get this team to where she thinks it deserves to be.”
Rounding out this trio of new players is Mack’s Boots, who serves as the goalie of the team, and while viewers are presented with one version of her character, Mack shares, “all of that arrogance, some of it might be bluff.”
