Yellowstone Fans Have Waited A Long Time

Originally, In January 2023, Paramount announced that the second part of Season 5 of the Taylor Sheridan-created series would premiere in the Summer of 2023. In February 2023, chaos around Kevin Costner ensued on the set. Several anonymous sources close to the set revealed that the actor who portrays John Dutton III was only available for about a week due to his prior commitment to his own 4-movie Western project called Horizon.

Next, Paramount announced in May that the remainder of Season 5 would be the end of the OG series. Moreover, they planned to continue the Dutton story with a Matthew McConaughey-led spinoff. At this time, Paramount announced that Season 5, Part 2 would premiere in November 2023.

In late summer there was some conflicting news. Thanks to Costner’s messy Hollywood divorce from Christine Baumgartner, fans learned that Kevin was not going to appear in any more Yellowstone episodes. This was despite news that in July, Costner had discussions about Seasons 6 and 7. Fans had to wonder if the Bull Durham star was going to appear in the final Season 5 episodes.

However, sources claimed that Paramount was not pleased that Costner told the Santa Barbara divorce court judge that he was “likely” suing Paramount for these episodes. This was in September.

Two months later, the network announced that they would premiere Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 in November 2024.

Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has been resolved, there is new Yellowstone news. What should fans expect now?

Paramount Is Starting Production On Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 Soon!

Right now, Yellowstone fans are absolutely frustrated. It has been nearly one year since Season 5, Part 1 premiered. Moreover, Paramount announced two premiere dates that have both been canceled. Will the series finish up in November 2024?

It certainly sounds like it!

According to Deadline, Yellowstone is “expected to start filming soon.” The modern Western family drama is finally going to be filming on set.

Will Kevin Costner Return For The Final Installment Of The Paramount Series?

Now, the million-dollar question is whether or not Kevin Costner will be returning for the final episodes. Less than two weeks ago, the chances of the Dances With Wolves star returning seemed “probable.” However, neither anyone from Costner’s camp nor Paramount’s have revealed anything.

But, Coster is an executive producer. Moreover, he also has a clause in his contract that allows him a say in how John Dutton dies. It seems very likely he will return, but this is as certain as a coin flip. Until an official announcement is made or photos shared from the set, no one knows, possibly including Costner himself.

Yellowstone fans, are you happy to see that they are finally going to start filming the final installment of the Paramount series?
