Negan Gives Dillard a Much-Needed Wake-Up Call in This Exclusive Dead City Clip

How do you solve a problem like a man not killing zombies, almost two decades into a zombie apocalypse?

Negan sets out to solve that problem on The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 3, airing Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.

Dillard, played by Jimmi Simpson, was introduced on The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 1 as a bar owner who keeps zombies as patrons.

It’s certainly a choice, and since Negan has become his close friend and confidante, he’s opening up a bit more.

Dillard isn’t as street wise as you’d expect being this far into a dead world, but he is highly entertaining.

TV Fanatic scored an exclusive clip of the upcoming episode and it showcases Negan trying to establish whether he can trust Dillard.

This is clearly a direct response to Dillard almost getting them killed on The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 2.

In a zombie-ravaged world, you need to know you can trust your companions to help you out of sticky situations.

If someone is not interested in killing zombies, then that’s a pretty big problem.

We see Negan passing Lucille over to Dillard, who looks conflicted about whether to challenge his own values.

It’s a miracle Dillard has survived for so long, but hey, maybe having the dead in his bar has actually kept him safe.

Survivors passing through the city probably turned their noses up entering a bar filled with the dead.

But Negan knows how dangerous the world is and if he’s riding with Dillard, they need to be on the same page.

Check out the clip below.

It’s a lot of fun, right?

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 has been a refreshing change of pace, proving there’s still life left in this zombie franchise.

Maggie and Negan have reached an understanding and are helping each other build a new community in Manhattan.

It’s going to be full of challenges, particularly now that a group is headed their way from across the water.
