Netflix Considers Removing Shows in the UK to Comply with Stringent New Streaming Regulations

Spoilers

As per Deadline

Netflix has threatened to remove films and TV shows from its UK library to avoid potential fines of up to £250,000 ($310,000) for carrying harmful content under new streamer regulations being introduced by the British government. Netflix and Disney have argued that the regulations should be different from traditional broadcasters, as viewers make active decisions to watch Netflix content, whereas people may accidentally stumble across potentially harmful shows on linear TV. Warner Bros. Discovery and Fremantle have also raised concerns about plans to allow Channel 4 to make its own shows.
