After a month of speculation, Bold And The Beautiful fans learned that Krista Allen was dumped from the CBS soap. Here is what we know. According to Deadline, the actress has been dumped from the soap “just hours” before The 2023 Daytime Emmys.
Allen, who is nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal as Dr. Taylor Hayes will be attending the Friday awards show just hours after she announced she was dropped back in October. Moreover, she was not expecting this outcome.
The craziest thing is right before I got dropped, I did the cast photo shoot, and then the next week they called and said, ‘We’re not going to keep your third year and thank you very much, you were wonderful and thank you, goodbye.
Allen admitted she was blindsided, as she stated, “And I was like, what?”
Actress Who Played Taylor Hayes Stayed Quiet For Two Months
Krista Allen admitted that staying quiet about her status on the CBS soap was “the hardest thing for me.” However, there were many rumors. The last time she was on the series was back in October, with her last air date on November 8. The rumors were starting to happen.
But, when she returned to Twitter less than a week ago, fans wanted to engage. That is because she posted on December 10, her second anniversary playing Taylor. Fans asked her when she was returning to the soap, and how they could not wait to see her return.
Allen revealed that once she got her Emmy Award nomination, things started to be different. She noticed she was not in the script. Then, she unexpectedly got axed. When she replaced Hunter Tylo, who left the show in 2019, she had to win over a very dedicated group of fans. Krista saw that fans were not excited about a new Taylor.
So that was really hard for me at the very beginning, just stepping into that and knowing what I was up against. But somehow the fans accepted me and it became this beautiful love affair with the fan base as this new Taylor. So when the Emmy nominations came out and I was nominated, I was blown away. It was my first year as a recast. It was kind of like against all odds.
Although there are rumors of some internal rivalry, the publication did check with the network. Krista Allen was offered a recurring role. However, she declined that.
