Former Bachelor Ben Higgins recently ran into his ex-fiance’s husband. Ben went on Chris Harrison’s podcast The Most Dramatic Podcast….Ever! and shared how it all went down. Was it awkward and was Lauren Bushnell there too? Keep reading to find out more.
Ben Higgins details run-in with Chris Lane
US Weekly shared what happened when Ben Higgins ran into Lauren Bushnell’s husband, Chris Lane. The two were both playing golf in a charity golf tournament. Ironically, Ben had a locker right next to Chris. Ben wasn’t thrilled about having his locker next to Chris. Plus, he was definitely nervous about possibly seeing his ex and her husband, but he was ready.
He said he hadn’t seen Lauren since their split. Entertainment Tonight shared more. Ben noted that while he and Lauren were over a long time ago, their relationship was an important time in his life.
As far as the tournament, Ben said, “No matter what we’re all adults, so I wasn’t worried about the outcome or how we would handle it. I was mostly just saying, ‘Hey, this is a fun week of golf. This is going to feel odd. That first run-in, what’s that going to be like?’ I don’t know if anybody out there… is super jacked to see somebody who they’ve split ways with in their life. Amicably, but they’ve split ways with them.”
He went on to say, “I was anxious about it, and then to walk into the locker room and see that, ‘Oh, we’re going to be definitely running into each other… We’re going to be putting our shoes on, changing together.’”
When they actually saw one another for the first time it was at the hotel bar not in the locker room. Ben was with Wells Adams and Chris Harrison. He saw Chris Lane and said he was going to go say hello. He did and he’s glad. As it turns out they had a very healthy interaction. He could have been rude to Ben but he wasn’t and things were great.
What else went down?
Ben and Chris had several interactions throughout the tournament and all went great. Ben never saw Lauren but he did visit with her dad. He had nothing but good things to say about the entire experience.
He said, “Chris is very kind and very nice. There was no weirdness or awkwardness. It was just good to see him. It was good to rip that Band-Aid off and have the first interaction. We ran into each other within 10 minutes of being at the same hotel. He didn’t see me at first, so I went up to him and said hey, and then our conversation started about the week. It was also great to see Lauren’s dad. He approached me and said hello. It went great overall. There was no drama there.”
