The stars aligned 10 years ago as David Tennant, Olivia Colman, and Jodie Whittaker starred in the British crime drama Broadchurch, which premiered stateside on BBC America on August 7, 2013.
Set in a fictional British town, Broadchurch’s first season followed a pair of detectives as they investigated a young boy’s murder that threatened to tear the fabric of the community apart. “It’s a story of scale and intimacy, as the lives of the characters are laid bare,” creator Chris Chibnall explained in a press release.
The ITV series aired three seasons and won three BAFTA Awards and a National Television Award in its native United Kingdom, and inspired an American adaptation that also starred Tennant.
