Tangled has remained a Disney favorite since its 2010 release, continuing to rank among the top 10 most-watched movies on Disney+ more than a decade later. With Rapunzel also widely considered one of Disney’s most beloved princesses, it was hardly surprising when the studio announced plans to give Tangled the live-action treatment.

As the cast has been announced and has recently begun filming in Spain, fans are already gearing up to see Rapunzel, played by Teagan Croft, let down her hair, sing her iconic songs, and see their favorite characters come to life. And oh, how could we forget? Milo Manheim‘s take on Flynn Rider’s iconic smolder.

When will Tangled premiere?

Tangled will premiere in theaters on March 31, 2028.

What is Tangled about?

The live-action version of Tangled will follow the plot of the original movie from 2010, which originally featured Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel.

When a young princess, Rapunzel (Teagan Croft), with magical long hair, has spent her life confined to a tower by Mother Gothel (Kathryn Hahn), gets the opportunity to escape on her 18th birthday to see the floating lanterns she doesn’t hesitate. Her escape is all thanks to a handsome thief, Flynn Rider, who arrives at her tower and is immediately on her bad side. Flynn Rider (Milo Manheim) and Rapunzel’s journey is one full of family secrets, hidden motives, an epic love story, and chaotic adventures.

Milo Manheim stars as Flynn Rider, Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, Caitríona Balfe as Queen Ariana, Elliot Cowan as King Frederic, Diego Luna as Hawthorne, and Patrick and Hugo McPherson as the Stabbington brothers.
