Bringing Up Bates stars Gil and Kelly Bates made a special trip to visit their family during the Christmas holiday. With so many kids and grandkids, it isn’t always easy to travel and see loved ones. But fortunately, they were able to see a very important member of the family this week.
As we reported, most of the family got together ahead of Christmas Day to celebrate the holiday. Several members of the family took to social media to share photos with fans. Katie Bates and Travis Clark returned home from their honeymoon shortly before everyone else celebrated. So, they got to be with Gil and Kelly before leaving Tennessee to head to their new home in New Jersey.
Now, Kelly and Gil have more moments to share with fans. In a new Instagram post on Wednesday, Gil and Kelly shared a series of photos from a get-together with her side of the family. They were able to see “Meema,” who is Kelly’s mother.
Kelly and Gil posted a few photos of their younger kids spending time with Meema. They also each took a photo with her. Kelly shared pictures of her sisters, nieces, and nephews who were able to be there.
In their caption, Gil and Kelly wrote, “Loved getting to see my family during the Christmas holidays. We stayed up late, laughed, reminisced, worked a jigsaw puzzle that had us all way too puzzled 🤪, and had so much fun together! It was such a joy to see Meema so very happy!”

In the comments section of the Bates family’s new Instagram post, fans are commenting and saying how much they love the photos. Many of them are blown away by how great Meema looks. She seems very happy to see her grandchildren. Some fans believe that Meema and Callie look a lot alike.
