Christmas Waltz fans have waited nearly three years for Will Kemp and Lacey Chabert to reunite in a Hallmark dance movie. The talented actors have progressed from the waltz to the tango in the upcoming mystery, The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango.
Now, Hallmark has released a cornucopia of videos to preview this highly anticipated mystery. What do they reveal?
Lacey Is The Only Actress That Will Put Up With Will’s ‘Schtick’
Sleuthers, are you ready for a good mystery and some laughs? In Hallmark’s On Location video for The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango, Will, and Lacey embrace at the beginning of the video. He joked, “She’s the only actress that would put up with my schtick.” She responded, “It’s been a hard three weeks.” He retorted, “Has it just been three weeks?”
This video includes a brief synopsis of this movie. Lacey explains that she plays a detective who is sent to Malta to investigate a suspicious death. She is assigned to go undercover with Will’s character, Sebastian, who is a dance teacher.
The next clip shows armchair detective Sebastian who wants to talk about their undercover character’s backstories. Detective Bailey is not amused. She reminds him that this is a “murder investigation.”
Next, Will Kemp reveals that his character’s job is to make sure that their undercover identities are “convincing.” Will reveals that Lacey “Jumps in wholeheartedly.” In addition, Lacey Chabert reveals that Will is “so funny.” She also wants the audience to feel like “They’ve packed their bags, they’ve gone with us, and they’re on this adventure with us.”
Will jokes, “So many murders, one step at a time.”
Hallmark’s Preview Reveals More About Dancing Detective Story
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Dancing Detective Preview video reveals a few more clues to this new mystery. In the video, we see Detective Bailey talking to what appears to be her boss. The murdered victim is Mark Aston. He is the CEO of Aston International. Moreover, they “need someone to work undercover.”
Next, her boss tells Detective Bailey that they found her a dance partner. Lacey Chabert’s character objects. She then admits she has “never danced a day” in her life.
The scene moves to the instructor, Will Kemp’s character. He is doing goofy dancing across the dance floor, jerking his body around in a comical way. More so, this demonstrates that the tone of this movie will certainly have light and fun moments. Soon, the scene shifts to the undercover couple elegantly walking down a grand staircase. Overhead, we heard Detective Constance Bailey say, “We need to know our suspects.”
