A regular game of Jeopardy! gets more difficult as the show progresses. But Jeopardy! Masters is hard from the beginning. It’s a true test of the trivia for six of the game show’s top winners. Ken Jennings Weighs In On ‘Hardest’ Tournament
Ken Jennings won 74 consecutive Jeopardy! games during his streak as a contestant. While some of his opponents returned to face him again, he never had to face off with the same opponent for three weeks. He went from contestant to host after Alec Trebek’s heartbreaking death from cancer.
The popular game show gave viewers a new twist in 2023 with the creation of Jeopardy! Masters. Six of the show’s top winners go head-to-head for three weeks of competition. Ken Jennings revealed how the spinoff differs from the regular game show.
“There’s lots of cool and accessible stuff, but there’s also going to be a few clues where I’m like, ‘I can’t believe we expect somebody to know this.’ Because we want to know, like, ‘How good can they get? How good are these people?’ And invariably, some of those hardest clues, somebody will get right,” he told ABC 7 while promoting the new season.
Jeopardy! Masters Short New Season Revealed
If you’re watching Jeopardy! tonight and wonder, ‘Are these the same people as last night?’ the answer is yes. Victoria Groce, Andrew He, Long Nguyen, Paolo Pasco, Yogesh Raut and Juveria Zaheer are this year’s Jeopardy! Masters contestants. Season 4 of the game show premiered on Tuesday, August 25.
It continues until the second week of September. The season is incredibly short compared to the regular Jeopardy! season. Masters featured two games per hour-long episode. The top four contestants will move on to the semifinals after episode 6. Then the top three will advance to the finals after episode 8. The season ends with episode 9, when the 2026 Jeopardy! Masters champion is crowned. Here’s the episode breakdown. The show doesn’t air on Monday, September 7, because of the Labor Day holiday.
