Jim Acosta and Elizabeth “Liz” Landers both have had long careers in journalism, with both even working at CNN together. However, they’ve recently got a big story to share outside of the newsroom. The two have recently tied the knot. In fact, the couple has already been sharing details about what the big event was like through various outlets.
Jim Acosta & Liz Landers Recently Got Married In Virginia This Past Saturday
Acosta previously worked for CNN from 2007 to 2025. During this time, he served as the network’s chief White House correspondent during the Obama and the first Trump administrations. He ultimately left the network last year after rejecting a different time slot for his CNN Newsroom show.
For her part, Landers first joined CNN in 2013 as a freelance news assistant. She left the network in 2019, going on to work with Vice News. Last year, she became a White House Correspondent for the PBS News Hour.

According to The Washingtonian, the two recently got married on Saturday, June 6, after a six-month engagement. The two tied the knot at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia.
It isn’t a coincidence that the two journalists have similar backgrounds. Reportedly, they first met while working at CNN together.
The Virginia Country Club Had A Special Meaning For Liz Landers & Her Family
Speaking with the outlet, Landers shared that the Virginia setting had a special meaning for her. She shared, “My grandfather was a retired Army general, and he spent a lot of time at Army Navy Country Club in his later years. I have so many memories of family meals and summer camp there as a kid. It’s very special to be getting married there and I know my grandfather’s presence will be felt.”
As the outlet shared, Liz wore a simple Kyha gown with Christian Louboutin stiletto, complete with a custom veil made by her godfather, Eric Javits. Acosta wore a Geoffrey Lewis tuxedo. Rounding out the bridal party, the bridesmaids wore chocolate brown.

Photos and videos of the happy moment were also shared on Instagram stories. This included the happy couple sharing a kiss and Acosta hitting the floor for a “Mother-Son” dance. The special evening reportedly included reading from both the bride and groom’s siblings. The ceremony was also officiated by Landers’ friend, John Lapin.
