NCIS franchise fans know Sam Hanna well at this point. LL Cool J has starred in three shows as the special agent, with 14 seasons of Los Angeles, one of Hawai’i, and guest spots on the mothership (including the backdoor pilot that introduced his first spinoff). Now, he’s back and in the Big Apple and working with a new team in NCIS: New York, premiering on CBS on Tuesday, October 6, at 9/8c.
When Sam Hanna comes to New York, he’ll have a new partner in Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan), a new boss in Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells (Jennifer Beals), and new teammates in Addison “Addy” Ross (Jacqueline Byers), Wyatt Hills (Shane Harper), and tech specialist Sean Sullivan (Devin Druid). CBS has released photos from the first episode, which you can check out below, and they offer a look at all the characters.
So far, what we know about the rest of the team is that Nick is “roguish,” Robyn “leads with her intuition and is widely respected by her team,” Addy is “a rock-solid, tough and resourceful agent with something to prove,” Wyatt is “fearless, sharp, highly skilled in the field and a hopeless romantic,” and Sean “is witty and brilliant but resistant to authority,” per their character descriptions. The trailer that was released on August 18 focuses on Sam joining the team and some good-natured ribbing between him and Nick. We’ll have to wait to see the dynamics within the team and how adding Sam to that changes things.
