Ashley’s weight gain came from her rough past. During her introduction, she revealed that she lived alone and resorted to food as her way of happiness. The My 600-lb Life alum has been through multiple traumas in life. Her father abandoned her when she was young and was sexually abused by their neighbor. Taylor’s mother also got sent to an epilepsy institution while her grandmother passed away when she was 20, leaving her with nobody to rely on in life.

Ashley only lost 17 pounds during her time on the show. She kept claiming that she was 630 pounds before filming and had already dropped enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. However, Dr. Now couldn’t find any records of her claims and suggested that she should continue shedding pounds to proceed with the operation. He also had doubts about her dedication to losing weight.
Ashley Taylor got upset when the surgeon didn’t believe her and stormed out during one of their conversations. She eventually returned for her examinations. But the former My 600-lb Life star never made any progress by the end of her episode. Her last reported weight was 469 lbs.

The therapist said that she had a major depressive disorder as well as some borderline personality disorders.
It’s clear that Ashley Taylor’s life wasn’t as great as the other patients. But it seems she has been trying her best to stay positive. In 2021, she was rumored to be dating another TLC personality named Jerry Sykes, who starred in the show 1000-lb Sisters.
