Like many other My 600-Lb. Life participants, Wess Schulze survived horrific abuse as a child. His past contributed to his food addiction, which sadly made it difficult for him to accomplish even basic daily tasks.
But after receiving mental health treatment and joining Dr. Now’s program, Wess made significant changes in his life. Recently, he revealed that he could comfortably buckle his seatbelt now — something he was unable to do before because of his size.
Now, Wess is celebrating another major milestone. What did he do?
Wess Schulze tries something new for the first time in years
After participants leave My 600-Lb. Life, they have some important decisions to make. Many guests don’t continue with Dr. Now’s program. However, Season 11 star Wess Schulze is definitely trying his best.
Although exercise can be intimidating for many people, Wess decided it was time to give it his best shot. Today, he tried something new — going for a walk around a store on his own.
“Ok guys! Im gonna try walking into a store and shopping for the first time in over 5 years. Wish me luck!” Wess captioned his first Instagram post. He uploaded a photo of himself in the car looking a little unsure and nervous. However, he had his online followers to give him a boost.
In the comments, fans encouraged Wess. They seemed excited about his next milestone and newest adventure.
And it seems like all the supportive words helped. A short time later, the TLC personality shared another update.
This time, he was actually walking around the store and getting some exercise into his day.
“I did it! Another small step toward a big milestone! Thank you all for the support!!!!” Wess captioned the follow-up post. In this selfie, he’s proudly smiling at the camera as he stands in an aisle.
“I LOVE seeing your updates! You’ve been doing such a great job and it’s been great to see your achievements! Keep at it! You’re killing it!!” one follower wrote in the comments. Plenty of other fans left kind words and encouraged Wess to keep up the hard work.
