Bob Barker hosted The Price Is Right for over 30 years. He retired in 2007 and passed away in 2023 at the age of 99. Drew Carey took over as host. Many TV viewers have fond memories of the beloved game show host. But a new documentary exposes what he was really like behind the scenes.
The Price Is Right was the subject of E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandals. The show spoke to several former staffers and models from the game show. Several of the models made shocking accusations against Bob Barker. The host and other male crew members allegedly sexually harassed the models to the point where CBS had to step in and limit how long the models could be looked at.
Another former model claimed that she quit the job early because of Bob Barker’s behavior. His behavior was the subject of several lawsuits, but the new E! docuseries shed new light on his alleged backstage behavior.
Price Is Right Producer Breaks Silence On Allegations
Bob Barker is a legendary part of many people’s childhood. It’s difficult to reconcile the person we saw on television and their behavior behind the scenes. The former game show host isn’t here to defend himself against the accusations, but several of his former colleagues have spoken out.
Roger Dobkowitz was a producer on The Price Is Right for almost 40 years. He took to Facebook to address the allegations that Bob Barker sexually harassed the models and the other accusations in the documentary. The former producer called the E! series a “hit piece” and blasted those who participated in it.
“This so-called “expose” makes me realize that there are some people in this world who will happily exaggerate and create falsehoods in order to justify a personal hateful vendetta against a person in order to draw attention to themselves.” He spoke out because he felt he had to defend the “integrity” of Bob Barker and the game show.
“The only unhappy people, as would be found in any company, were the ones that didn’t get the raise they wanted, the ones that didn’t get the promotion they thought they deserved, and the ones that were terminated for not doing their job,” he added about the accusers.
