The world lost a dear friend when Matthew Perry passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 at just 54. Early reports indicate that the Friends star died of drowning after suffering from cardiac arrest in his jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home. No signs of foul play or drugs were reported found at the scene. Perry, who had no children, is survived by his adoring parents and siblings, and millions of friends and fans, who turned to social media immediately to share their shock and heartbreak on the news.

Last year, Perry poured his own heart out in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. The first page of his book read: “Hi my name is Matthew, although you may know me by another name, as my friends call me Mattie, and I should be dead.”
