Rosie O’Donnell hates Donald Trump so much that she moved to Ireland following his 2024 presidential election win and tends to stay well away from anyone who identifies as a MAGA supporter.
However, there is one famous Trump lover who the former View co-host remains friends with to this day. O’Donnell revealed the news on the latest episode of Kyle Ridley’s The Tangle podcast, saying that she still stays in touch and is close with country singer Wynonna Judd.
“Now, I am friends with Wynonna Judd, who I love very much, and I’ve known her for many, many years. And she is a supporter of Trump. And somehow, we never bring it up,” O’Donnell said, per Entertainment Weekly.
The A League of Their Own star said she gives Judd “grace, in a way,” adding, “She’s had so much in her life with her mom taking her own life and just the complicated nature of her upbringing. And I really love her, and I care about her, and, for some reason, I’m able to put that aside when we interact.”
Judd visited the White House during Trump’s first term, where she advocated for criminal justice reform. She also distanced herself from anti-Trump comments made by her sister, Ashley Judd, in 2017.
“Aside from Wy, I can’t think of anyone else in my life who supports him, and I don’t understand the people who do,” O’Donnell continued. “His cruelty is so blatant. His criminal behavior is so obvious. His misogyny, his racism, his homophobia. He’s just a very dark spirit, and I don’t know why that’s not obvious to the world.”

The feud between O’Donnell and Trump has been going on for years. Last year, the Emmy-winning talk show host told the Irish network RTÉ’s The Late Late Show that the president has “had it out” for her for 20 years after she “told the truth about him on a program called The View.”
“I mentioned his bankruptcies, and I mentioned all of the sexual assault charges, and I mentioned that he was not, in fact, the businessman that everyone thinks he is because of the show, The Apprentice, where they sold a bunch of lies to America for over 10 years, and half of America believed it,” she stated.
After Trump returned to the White House, O’Donnell moved from the United States to Ireland with her child, Clay. “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” she told her TikTok followers last year.
The feud was reignited last year when Trump threatened to take away O’Donnell’s citizenship, writing on Truth Social, “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her.”
Earlier this week, O’Donnell told the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast that Trump is essentially the one responsible for her sudden return to the spotlight. O’Donnell recently completed a short run of her one-woman show, Common Knowledge, in New York City, and starting on Monday (August 17), she will be guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Describing herself as “re-famous,” O’Donnell told Poehler, “I think it’s [Trump] who did it. He didn’t know. If he knew how much he was helping my career and life, he would shut up about me, because you know, he’s a horrible creature.” She also unveiled her new nickname for the president, adding, “I think it’s Mango Mussolini.”
