Could America’s most eligible bachelor take himself to The Bachelor mansion? A fan called into Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show and suggested her should go on the dating show, but not the version he thought of.
“And we’re dead #GoldenBachelor,” the Instagram post, along with a skull and laughing emoji, was captioned on August 7.
The caller told the host, “Hi Ryan. I think that you need to be the next Golden Bachelor on ABC.” This caused Seacrest’s On Air cohosts, Tanya Rad and Sisanie, to crack up.
“I think it would be nice to have 12 or 13 women who are all interested in you. I think that would be entertaining for television, and I wish you the best of luck,” the caller ended. The women could not control their laughter and busted up laughing before Seacrest reacted.
“Why do I? Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on,” he said.
“I guess you’ve aged out of the regular Bachelor,” Sisanie said. “But I don’t know if you’re old enough.”
“I’m sorry, but the image I have of him is not golden,” Seacrest said. “I don’t know what you see.” The women continued to laugh.
“You can’t be the regular Bachelor because they’re like 21, 22-year-olds,” Rad said.
“Welll, he could,” Sisanie said, referencing his younger relationships.
“But, I can’t be golden,” Seacrest replied.
“Yeah. You’re kind of in the middle,” Rad laughed.
“Like Gerry [Turner] was 75 years old,” Seacrest said of the first Golden Bachelor. “I can’t be golden.”
“It was a sweet call because she really wants it for you,” Rad said through laughter.
“She does, but can’t I be on Love Island or something?” Seacrest asked. “Not the golden.”
“I’m dead,” Sisanie said.
A spinoff of the ABC series, the Golden Bachelor/ette focuses on older men and women who want a second chance at love during their “golden years.” Seacrest is 51, almost 52, so he would need about 20 more years to be the lead of the show.
Currently, Seacrest appears to be single. But he has dated a lot of younger women in the past. With his toe in a lot of different projects, maybe Seacrest could set up a dating show for himself.
