Savannah Chrisley’s new husband, Jason Galanis, is in legal hot water, but he is fighting back. He is declaring that the $2 million he allegedly owes the victims of his crimes is his, as President Trump commuted his sentence. Keep reading for more on Jason’s argument and whether he has a chance of winning.

Savannah Chrisley’s Husband Does Not Want To Pay Up

When fans and followers learned that Savannah Chrisley was pregnant, they were shocked. Yet, they were happy that her dreams had come true. She also shared that she was engaged to a much older man named Jason and was over the moon. Then, within hours, his backstory was revealed, and it turned out he had been sentenced to sixteen years behind bars. Moreover, he had served time with her father, Todd Chrisley, but President Trump had commuted his sentence in March 2025. This threw followers for a loop, and they wanted Savannah to get out fast, but it was too late.

She and Jason, 56, had secretly tied the knot in July 2026, so the deed had been done. Now, Jason must hand over $2 million to his fraud victims, but he is disputing this, per Page Six. His legal team is stating that there is “no recognized reason to give the funds to anyone else.” Moreover, his commutation in 2025 has freed him from having to do anything further with his case. He did sell properties, and that money was to go toward retribution. Yet, Jason maintains those properties were not purchased with “dirty” money.

As of now, the $2.17 million from the real estate that was sold should have gone to Jason Galanis’ victims. However, it is unknown whether that happened, but he has made it clear that it should be his. Savannah Chrisley’s husband was supposed to invest money for others, but spent it on lavish, personal items.

Making Himself Look Worse

Savannah Chrisley has tried to make her marriage and pregnancy look beautiful. She wrote a public message to her unborn baby and wanted them to know they were “not a headline.” However, that is very hard right now when Jason Galanis’ name and past keep coming up in such a negative manner. There are many ways that Savannah could have introduced him to the world, but this was a heavy bomb being dropped. Followers of this story are sickened by Jason and his demand for the return of the $2 million:

  • Thats terrible! Disgusting its for the victims thats some POS behavior
  • The lowest of the low…human scumbags.
  • lol what a POS
  • Man she really is marrying someone just like her daddy, gross
