September might be coming to an end, but a new season of Shark Tank is just beginning. With a new season, fans are already getting excited about a lot of the projects being showcased on the show. Luckily, even ahead of the new episode, information has come out about how fans can find and purchase a lot of these items, including the Ollyball indoor ball.
The Ollyball Was Developed To Help Kids Have A Ball While Playing Indoors
Joe Burke started working on Ollyball after his daughter had a sports-related accident at home. At the time, she knocked a plate of pasta on the family’s new couch while playing soccer inside the house.
This caused Joe and his wife, Ellen, to contemplate something. They wanted their kids to be able to play inside the house. However, conventional sports balls were too heavy and could easily break things.
Luckily for Joe, he had quite the background to draw from. He had studied graphic design at Rochester Institute of Technology and worked as a brand director for Disney Stores and an executive at Goodwill Industries. In addition, his brother John was a nationally recognized soccer coach. Together, Joe, John, and Ellen formed VICTURY Sports.
Eventually, the Ollyball was developed, weighing less than an ounce. It contained an inner section surrounded by a light outer shell and a shock-absorbing structure. Unlike a foam ball, however, it can be kicked and thrown about, acting more like a typical game ball.
Shark Tank Is Returning For Season 18 With A Two-Parter, Complete With The Ollyball
The ball also offers something for the artist in every athlete. It’s designed so that children can draw and color directly on it with crayons and markers.
Initially, Ollyball reached specialty stores and online sellers, including Amazon and Learning Express. Some of these outlets listed the ball as its top-selling toy in 2019.
According to Shark Tank Products, the brand is now carried by Target and DICK’S Sporting Goods. Ollyball is also available for purchase through its own website, where it is listed at around $25.
Shark Tank is debuting Season 18 on September 30, complete with two back-to-back episodes. The Ollyball will be featured in the second episode, alongside the Ellavate Electric Wagon, Skimpies, and Cold Current Kelp. Items featured in the first episode also include the Caulking Finger, the Wedding Weekender, the Ball 2 Electronic Ball, and Fun Delivered.
