Shark Tank is returning for a new season, complete with two back-to-back episodes. Even before the premiere, however, fans can already check out various items set to be featured on the show. This includes the Caulking Finger, with information also coming out on how fans can purchase the item themselves.
Daniel Stephenson Put Decades Of Work As A Painting Contractor, As Well As A Few Connections, To Use To Develop The Caulking Finger
Working with caulk isn’t always easy. Daniel Stephenson knew this well, having spent decades smoothing caulk, which left him with the tips of his fingers sore and cut through his work as a painting contractor.
Stephenson felt that the solution was simple: making a new finger. Working with a mold of his own index finger, he cast an early version in silicone and attached it to a bent metal rod.
With more testing, Stephenson eventually settled on an engineered rubber, keeping things flexible yet firm. For extra precaution, it was designed to be easily used while wearing gloves.
Stephenson’s painting business helped him find backing. The Caulking Finger later went on sale at Larry’s 4 Way and the Jasper County Lumber Company in 2018. The business operates as FWMM Products, standing for “Faith Will Move Mountains.”
The Caulking Finger Will Be Featured In The First Half Of A Two-Parter As Shark Tank Returns For Season 18
The Caulking Finger is available for purchase on its namesake website. The item can be purchased for $9.99. A two-pack can also be purchased for $17.99, and a six-pack is available for $50.99. In addition, replacement tips are also available for purchase. The site also recommends that users periodically clean the finger after use with a damp cloth or sponge to get rid of excess caulk.
According to Shark Tank Products, the finger can also be purchased through over 500 stores. This includes national hardware retailers like Ace Hardware and Home Depot. According to Stephenson, his own connections also came in handy in promoting the project. For example, a Sherwin-Williams manager he knew reportedly also helped him start the process of selling through the company.
Shark Tank is debuting Season 18 on September 30, complete with two episodes at once. The Caulking Finger will be featured in the first episode, alongside the Wedding Weekender, the Ball 2 Electronic Ball, and Fun Delivered. In the second episode, viewers will also see the Ollyball Indoor ball, the Ellavate Electric Wagon, Skimpies, and Cold Current Kelp.
