Teddi Mellencamp has bravely been fighting metastatic melanoma for four years. The skin cancer spread to her brain in 2025, causing the emergency removal of four brain tumors. The RHOBH star shared a shocking update amid her cancer battle. She revealed that she can’t see after the surgery. Keep reading for the latest development in her health battle.
Teddi Mellencamp Reveals She Can’t See After Brain Surgery
Teddi Mellencamp was diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma on her back in 2022. She credits her RHOBH co-star Kyle Richards for pointing out the spots on her back and encouraging her to see a doctor. The cancer unexpectedly spread to her brain.

The reality star underwent emergency brain surgery to remove four tumors. Monthly immunotherapy treatments were used to target the remaining cancer cells. Teddi Mellencamp said in September 2026 that she’s “cancer-free for now.” However, she’s still suffering from brain surgery side effects.
The former RHOBH star took to Instagram to share an update about her life now. “I’m not gonna try to be the old Teddi, but I’m gonna try to be the new and improved Teddi,” she said, according to PEOPLE magazine.
She said that she has memory issues and vision problems since the brain surgery. “I’m not good with numbers. I can’t write. It’s hard for me to see. All post-having-my-brain surgeries,” Teddi shared. “That being said, I don’t want to keep feeling sorry for myself because that is what’s happening, and then I quit. So, I just want to feel okay being back in my skin again.”

Teddi Mellencamp said that she’s nearly 40 pounds heavier than she was two years ago from the cancer treatment. The RHOBH started working out again recently. “I don’t care about becoming the old me again bc she wasn’t happy. But [I] am excited to see where my new journey will take me,” she wrote on Instagram.
RHOBH Alum Issues Stark Warning
Teddi Mellencamp did not expect the melanoma cancer to spread. During an appearance on Jenny McCarthy’s podcast, the RHOBH alum issued a warning for others diagnosed with skin cancer.
“So I had 18 melanomas on my back. No one had told me, not one person, so this is for all of you guys — not one person told me, ‘You don’t think that can metastasize to your brain and your lungs?’” she shared.
Teddi Mellencamp added, “I have a million surgeries [on my shoulder]. So I would get this [checked] all the time. I would go to that doctor and get my skin checked all the time, but nobody did an MRI. Nobody did a CAT scan. Nobody did anything.”
Teddi Mellencamp’s brain tumors were there for about a year before she had any symptoms. Now she’s ready to reclaim her life. Stay tuned for updates about her health journey.
