Joy Behar is known for talking about current events for a living on The View. However, she is known to have an interest in history, including a century-old Hamptons home. In fact, the talk show co-host recently sold this property. However, reports claim it was millions less than her original asking price.

Joy Behar Is Known To Be Based In New York City, The Home Of The View

Behar is known to many through her work on The View. She has been part of the show since the very start when it made its 1997 debut. While she briefly left the show in 2013, she ultimately made her permanent return in 2015.

Behar is known to be based in New York City, which is where The View is broadcast from. However, news has come out concerning property she owns in the Hamptons.

Behar is known for owning a historic mansion in Sag Harbor, New York, having purchased the property in 2016. The estate was originally built in 1903. It reportedly features 4,500 square feet of living space and 4.5 bedrooms.

However, Behar has since sold her Hamptons home, which she originally purchased for $4.75 million. According to online records, as shared by First For Women, a buyer paid $5.65 million for the estate.

As the outlet noted, however, this was around $5.3 million less than Behar’s original asking price, which was listed at $10.95 million. The property hit the market in November 2024.

Prior to the sale, Behar’s asking price underwent five price adjustments. The price previously dropped to $8.995 million, then $7.995 million, $6.95 million, and $5.95 million. The asking price was reportedly raised slightly to $6.995 million.

For the time being, Behar hasn’t revealed just why she recently sold the property. While speaking with Behind the Hedges back in 2021, she admitted to being something of a “house hopper.” She added, “When I see it, I want it.”

At the time, Behar quipped, “This house is over 100 years old — I’m almost as old as this house!” She noted, “But it’s a beautiful house. It has bones, and it has history.” In fact, she shared that she “fell in love with it” even though it wasn’t for sale.

Meanwhile, Behar is expected to return to The View as it is set to debut a new season. Fans will be able to watch Season 30 on September 8, 2026, just one day after Labor Day.
