However, some viewers were surprised by the response his comments received.
The FCC Was A Recent Topic Of Discussion On CNN’s NewsNight
Jennings is a political strategist and commentator. He signed on as an on-air contributor for CNN in 2017.
Recently, Jennings took part in a discussion on CNN’s NewsNight program over President Donald Trump’s Federal Communications Commission. Among the panel was Ana Navarro, a longtime CNN contributor who is also famously a co-host on The View.
During the discussion, commentators Jason Rantz and Jennings both shared concern over complaints of figures being targeted by the FCC. This referenced Jimmy Kimmel Live! announcing that it would air an interview with candidate James Talarico online instead of during a television broadcast.
Suspecting the situation wasn’t as clear-cut as that, Jennings shared, “There’s a difference between ABC and a cable channel. I think the Talarico thing was a total setup. They did that knowing they wanted to put it on the internet and then claimed they were being silenced or banned. No one is silencing Jimmy Kimmel.”
Ana Navarro Didn’t Appear To Respond To Scott Jennings’ Comments, But She Has Spoken Out In Defense Of Jimmy Kimmel In The Past
It was then that Jennings turned toward Navarro. He shared, “Your shows [like] The View, is able to do whatever it wants. Nobody is doing anything to anyone. Democrats, liberals, they get plenty of access to the airwaves. The comedians get to make all the jokes they want to make. Conservatives are very critical of this.”
During the recent discussion, while they appeared to be on opposite sides of the argument, Navarro didn’t appear to respond to Jennings’ words. She also didn’t reference his criticism of The View during the segment.
However, Navarro and Jennings have been known to clash over the years. CNN viewers previously saw arguments between them concerning things ranging from Kamala Harris and Trump’s immigration claims.
While on The View, Navarro has spoken out in defense of Kimmel in the past. During one broadcast, she thanked viewers for demanding “truth and courage” from the television shows they watched in light of Kimmel’s suspension late last year.
