The Today Show meteorologist Al Roker is taking a strong stand and is telling hosts to simply “suck it up.” So, what exactly transpired and why is he saying such a thing? More so, will anyone listen to him or is it just going to fall on deaf ears? Read on for more details about the situation.
Today Al Roker Takes Strong Stand, Tells Hosts ‘Suck It Up’
Al Roker is always a kind man and fans love to see him in the morning. He has shared his health journeys as well as his recent milestone of becoming a grandfather. This was such a sweet and momentous experience for the longtime morning show staple. Additionally, he just had his documentary, Gaining Ground The Fight For Black Land, at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. So, things are really starting to look up after all of his pain, struggles, and recovery. Yet, Al also seemingly knows when to throw the hammer down when he needs to.
According to The Sun, the meteorologist spoke out and up when his panel of co-hosts were chatting about an airline change. On the 3rd hour of Tuesday, August 29th’s episode of Today, the conversation turned to Turkish Corendon Airlines. They are apparently going to try having a section strictly for adults on their flights. It will be located in the front of the plane and passengers must be sixteen and older. As the other co-hosts discussed how they felt about it all, Al Roker was then asked about his feelings.
He simply responded: “Listen, people and families traveling is a part of travel, so suck it up. It’s not that big a deal.” He has a point but there are those who just want to travel in peace. They can now do that with 93 seats allocated just for those 16+. What has not been mentioned is that it costs more than a regular flight. Per abc7, it can be under $50 or, if travelers prefer more legroom, it can be over $100. Flights will start in November.
All International
Fortunately for Al Roker, he can enjoy flights with all types of people of all age groups. This particular airline that is experimenting with an adults-only section is international. They will only be flying initially between Amsterdam and Curaao. As for whether they have plans to expand domestically, that is yet to be seen. Other airlines might be watching Corendon Airlines to see if it is something that they may want to implement in the near future.
