Dylan Dreyer is taking a bit of a break from Today. However, she’s still keeping in touch with fans on social media. Recently, she shared a bit of a family story that has gotten fans and some of her co-stars reacting.
Dylan Dreyer Is One Of A Few Today Stars Taking Rotating Summer Breaks
Dreyer originally started on the Today show in September 2012. Initially serving as a weather anchor for Weekend Today, she later expanded her role, going on to co-host the program’s third hour.
As the year has entered the summer months, many of the staff members on Today have been taking time off the show. This includes Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Carson Daly. Dreyer herself is no exception, taking a temporary break to enjoy a family vacation with her kids.
However, that doesn’t mean Dreyer doesn’t have a few things to share with fans. She recently shared a video of her three sons, Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty, going for a swim at a hotel pool.
Their meteorologist mother could be heard comically calling out for them throughout the video to get their attention. She could be heard saying, “Guys, please. Guys, one picture. Just one. Please. There we go – Oli’s cute,” right before one of her sons pulls his brother into the water. Dylan called out, “Guys!,” as Oli tried to help his mom by telling his brothers, “Stop fighting.”
A Few Fans Shared Some Of Their Own Family Stories With The Post
However, Dylan was able to take a photo, which she used as a cover for the post. In a caption, she wrote, “Took a few tries but we got there!”
Some of Dylan’s co-stars on Today took to the comments to share a bit of empathy. Laura Jarrett, for example, commented, “So.Many.Tries.” Rachel Paula teased, “I predict some great ‘The Parent Chat’ content coming from this vacation.”
In another post, Dreyer showcased devoting some time to herself during the trip. In the photo, she explained that she was doing her nails, even as her boys sat by. For a caption, she wrote, “Wild decision…”
In the comments, other fans shared their reaction to the posts. Quite a few were empathetic, sharing, and missing, their own stories of their own family vacations with children. Some comments included:
