Wayne Brady Involved In Heated Altercation After Car Accident

TV Shows

The TV personality was involved in a minor car accident on Sunday night which ultimately led to another man’s arrest.

Wayne Brady has often been described as one of the nicest people in all of Hollywood. So when his name and the words “heated altercation” pop up in the same sentence, you just know something is wrong. On Sunday night, the Let’s Make A Deal host was driving his car along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California when his car was struck by another vehicle. The car accident was considered relatively minor, but tempers quickly flared soon after.

From Car Accident To Punches Being Thrown

According to Entertainment Weekly, Brady’s sour Sunday night began when a vehicle backed into his car. After the drivers exited their cars to inspect the damage, words were exchanged. It didn’t take long before the disagreement between the two drivers became hotly contested. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told Entertainment Weekly that a “minor physical altercation” followed the heated argument.

The other driver allegedly threw a punch at Brady’s face. The driver then fled the area and headed to a neighborhood in the surrounding area. They were then apprehended just a few minutes later. The driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit-and-run (property damage only), and battery, authorities said.

Perhaps one of Brady’s most iconic moments as a performer was during an appearance on Chappelle’s Show. Brady portrayed a fictionalized version of himself that reigned terror on everyone around him, including comedian Dave Chappelle.

Despite his comedic performance as a ruthless psychopath, Brady has cultivated a longstanding reputation as a kindhearted person. People had a chance to speak with a source close to the Brady family after the car accident. “Wayne is so upset about this incident with a drunk driver. As a father, he was just thankful it was not his daughter or anyone’s child dealing with this,” the source says. “He kept thinking what if it was his daughter.”

Wayne Brady Is Always Busy

Luckily for Brady, he managed to escape the incident without serious injury. The actor and TV personality likes to keep himself busy these days. Outside of his hosting duties on Let’s Make A Deal, Brady is also a series regular on Whose Line Is It Anyway? Brady appeared in over 200 episodes in the show’s first iteration. The show was then rebooted in 2013 with host Aisha Taylor. Brady has appeared in nearly every episode in the show’s second run.

In 2022, Brady was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. The multi-talented performer quickly made his mark as a fan favorite. Alongside dance partner Witney Carson, Brady earned a third-place finish in the dance competition show.

Brady will also be appearing in his own reality show, which will be available on Hulu. The show will focus on Brady and his blended family as they navigate their lives in Hollywood. According to Hulu, the show will “offer an intimate look into his blended family’s personal life — revealing unexpected points of view and values that most people — including his own family — have a hard time understanding.”
